Rimmel London NOTD

Hi everyone,

I wanted something new on my nails and I loved the effect the different types of holographic nails gave to my hands and I went for non-holographic nails this time. I then added a French line to all of the nails using a polish from an adjacent nail.

On my nails I’m wearing the following colours.
Thumb: OPI – Rumple’s Wiggin
Index: Lycra pro – 420 Aqua Cool
Middle: Lycra Pro – 425 My Denim
Ring: 60 Seconds – 825 Sky High
Pink: Lycra Pro – 500 Peppermint

Summer eye look

Hi everyone,

I haven’t worn makeup in over a month and I wanted to start again with a summer look. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy wearing makeup and playing with it.

I used only three things to achieve this look.

I started with Mac Melon pigment on my eye and on my lower lashline. I blended the colour to just over my crease, on my waterline I’m wearing Urban Decay Zero pencil and Rimmel 123 Looks Waterproof mascara on my lashes finished the look.

The Rimmel Mascara was a bit of a pleasant surprise to be honest. It’s one of those twisting mascara’s which mean you can get more or less volume (read: product). They say that put the “dial” at 1 and you get 3x more volume, put it on 2 and you get 5x more volume and on 3 for 10x more volume. Well that claim is nonsense in itself, but the mascara is actually very good. You might not expect it from a mascara that looks as cheap packaging wise as this one does, but it does make lashes look more full. The brush is very very nice. It’s a small brush which means that you can get very near to the roots without hitting skin and the mascara doesn’t run in the rain or in the shower. It stays on very well and does a very decent job. Don’t expect the dials to actually give you 10 times the volume, that’s ridiculous and we all know it. That’s like those mascara adds where you can see the woman wearing false lashes and then claiming that the mascara did that. We’re not dumb, just say that they look better and prettier and show us the REAL results. Anyway, enough of my rambling, just thought you should get more info on this for me serendipitous product.

Blue Holographic nails (5 different polishes)

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a thing for blue holographic nailpolishes forever and this time I wanted to see what the minuscule differences are and show them to you too.

I’ll tell you all the names and brands at the end, but first look at this video and these pictures to see which nailpolish you like best.

Final Review Maybelline the Falsies Mascara

Hi everyone,

This is the closure of my third mascara review. Maybelline makes mascara’s for different lashes and different people with different preferences, like length, volume and/or curl.

I was hoping to finish this review a long time ago but wasn’t able to because of circumstances. So to look back to post where I started this review you see I began with a short summery of the claims on the packaging of the mascara and my opinion in blue. Remember I was not sponsored by Maybelline and I’m only giving my opinion based on what it does on my lashes.

I chose the The Falsies Volume Expresse (in black drama [their blackest black])

The mascara is Continue reading

Orly Halley’s Comet

Hi everyone,

This is one of my older posts with a new picture added that showed the colour even more beautiful then in the previous post. The new picture is the one with the pink background.

I wanted to go for another blue on my nails, and immediately grabbed Halley’s Comet by Orly. This colour could be a dupe for OPI’s Catch Me In Your Net . I remember that that polish was HELL to remove and chipped fairly quick.

Halley’s Comet is a polish that took long to dry on my nails. The other polishes from the Orly Cosmic FX Collection (Fall 2010) didn’t take this long. The colour is more green then Catch me in your net and reminds me of the sea and mermaids. This is a foil polish that’s a duochrome blue-turquoise. A little girl in the supermarket told her mummy I had seagirl nails :D .

Essence Whoom! Boooomm!! Polish – 03 You’ve got the art

Hi everyone,

Here is another of the Essence Whoom! Boooomm!! polishes. This time I’m showing you 03 You’ve got the art. Which is a greenish yellowish colour that’s very hard to describe or photograph. So I took a hand full of M&M and knowing that everyone is familiar with these colours means you can see the difference better. This picture was taken in sunlight.

Maybelline forever strong pro nailpolish – 220 Mellow Mauve

Hi everyone,

Just as with the last post I wanted to test the same polish type only a different colour and I was amazed, seriously amazed by this Maybelline Forever Strong Pro nailpolish. This colour 220 Mellow Mauve didn’t have the damage to the shine on day 2 and kept beautiful the entire week. I took pictures the first 4 days and then I got even sicker and it slipped my mind, so you have to trust me when I tell you this polish stayed PERFECT for 7 days.

Maybelline forever strong pro nailpolish – 135 Nude Rose (testing the 7 day staying power)

Hi everyone,

I’m starting to rejoin the life of the living, having Mononucleosis (Pfeiffer) really took all my energy and I’m still slowly getting better. I still have to listen to my body and take it easy for another 2 weeks but, it’s getting better so I’m happy about that. My laptop was having sympathy pains and is now getting a new motherboard at Sony, so I’ve been completely away from internet except for an occasional look on my iPhone. I did have someone twitter for me occasionally to make sure that wasn’t completely quiet as well. So the first couple of posts might be something you’ve seen already if you follow me on Twitter.

Whilst I was ill I tested a nailpolish that claimed it would stay on chipfree for a complete week (which meant I didn’t have to reapply, which was good because I was too exhausted to do even that). I took a quick picture every day for a week to show you the way it stayed on.

Day 1 (sun) :  . Continue reading
