Hi everyone,

Sometimes you need to go to work before you have drinks where you need to look a little different and then you’re going out without having more then 5 minutes in between and no space to bring an entire makeup bag. For those of you, I have a solution.

This look is a mixture of the very neatly makeup and the funky makeup, you can make it more “beautiful” with contouring, blush, etc etc. I think losing those things will give more strength to the eyes. But as with everything I write, take from it what you need, and add yourself to create the best version of this look for you.

Look one: For the office:

Look 2: For drinks

Look 3: To go out (funky)

First of all, this is all the makeup I used for this look (excl. lipstick)

(everything in the purple circle you would take with you)

Base:
Foundation (I’m using Vichy Dermablend foundation in 25 nude (SPF 20))
Concealer (I’m using Make Up For Ever, Lifting Concealer in colour 1)

Eye:
Black eyeliner (I’m using Urban Decay – 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero)
Black mascara (I’m using Maybelline The Falsies Mascara)
Eyelash curler (I’m using Shu Uemura ones)
- One cotton bud & one cotton pad soaked in oil free makeup remover (I’m using Bioderma )
- Liquid (or gel) eyeliner (black) (I’m using Max Factor Masterpiece Glide & Define Liquid Eyeliner)
- A slanted brush (I’m using a Bodyshop brush)
- Black matte eyeshadow (I’m using MAC Carbon)

WORK
You start by applying your foundation over a well moisturized face, I’m using this dermablend foundation because it’s a full coverage foundation and I think this adds to the fifties feel of the day makeup. Also this foundation stays on unbelievably well and doesn’t need to be powdered on my skin. Over this I’m using a light coloured concealer to lighten up under my eyes, this brightens the look.

At this point I line my top waterline (some will stamp onto the bottom eventually, even if you use waterproof eyeliner like I’m doing). I also curl my lashes right now, yes this makes lining a little harder, but after working very hard on the liner, I don’t want to smudge (accidentally) it with the eyelash curler if it’s not completely dry and I’m in a hurry.

The eyeliner I’m using for the line has a felt tip, this means it’s easier to get a fine line that’s straight. Don’t think you have to draw the line in one thick line, you can build it up. I always like to start with the inner corners and then halfway I do the thin lines of the wings and then make this even before filling them. You can use scotch tape if you prefer, or a white eyeliner to draw it out, but I’ve done this before so I’m doing it like this. You’re perfect angle is probably if you angle the wing towards the end of your brow.

I then fill in the line and perfect the line. Don’t pull the skin around the eyes to much, this is delicate skin, remember that. Also it’s easier to build a line like this then to use remover to make it perfect (if you do mess up, do use remover to fix it though and remember to reapply foundation to the edge of the liner again). Another reason to not pull this skin to much is that the line should be the shape it is when the skin isn’t pulled (so if you’re planning on doing something with your hair (like a tight bun) do that before as well. Don’t be afraid to build the line when both eyes are open, you get a better view of both eyes when you look at the line with open eyes and fix small bumps with eyes open as well.

Now all you need to add is mascara:

DRINKS
This is the quickest thing you can do and it doesn’t even take one minute (just remember to rest your elbow when drawing the line and to look straight into a mirror to see the angle), you can just go up from the angle you drew before, just stop when it’s even. Do the same with the inner corner, extend the line a little to make it really catlike.

FUNKY (going out)
This is the most tricky, but when you get the hang of it, it takes very little time. Just don’t drink any alcohol before attempting to do this ;) )
You roughly thicken up the line, overdrawing it even.

Now you use the cotton bud (that you took with you wetted slightly with makeup remover in a plastic bag), and create the line you like. I always make the bottom of the wing a little rounded just as the top and the outer edge straight. I also remove the inner eye corner line.

Now take the cotton pad to fix it, and if you have room to bring it reapply some concealer, otherwise, take a damp finger and smudge the foundation a bit to remove all tell tale lines.
Fix the lines with the liner to make them SUPER straight, thicken up the line on the lid and apply some black eyeshadow to hide any smudges in the liner that happens over time and when reapplying later on in the day.
Now you’re done and this is the finished eye:

You can reapply mascara, I prefer not to, the black is pretty there already and I like the look to be very neat and a little disheveled at the same time.

I hope you enjoyed this look. Have an amazing Friday!!
