Maybelline the Falsies mascara – Day 2
Hi everyone,
Well, I thought I’d go for a big smokey eye to show you the mascara on day 2.
First I’ll tell you what makeup I used for this look:

Base:
I cleansed my face toughoughly with my Clarisonic and the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula. This means my skin is looking fresh and I used a SkinCeuticals Serum 20 AOX first, this gives your skin a lot of vitamin C the AOX+ advanced antioxidant technology, combined with ferulic acid with 20% L-ascorbic acid enhances antioxidant performance. This serum is designed to restore and protect healthy looking skin, it’s lightweight and fast-absorbing and neutralizes free radicals, defends against environmental damage, and helps prevent premature signs of aging. On top of this I used Estee Lauder DayWear Sheer Tint Release Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Moisturizer SPF 15. This gives a hint of a Tint to your skin. I wouldn’t wear this if you’re paler then I am, but it’s amazing, feels great and looks very natural ans beautiful. On my eyes I used Clinique All About Eyes.
Foundation:
Under my eyes I used Garnier Roll On . For a review by me on this product click here. This was actually enough for my skin. The Estee Lauder and the Roll on do enough for my skin right now.
Eyes:
On my eyes I started with Urban Decay’s original Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Over this I used Smashbox, Cream Eyeliner in Caviar. I smudged this out a lot, creating the base for the black eyeshadow. For the actual shadow I used the following colours:
- Creep (on the lid)
- Gunmetal (on the crease)
- Half Baked (on the middle of the lid on top of Creep)
- Sin (on the inner corner)
All colours are from the Urban Decay Naked Palette
I absolutely love this palette and I’ve been using it for quite a while. I used the Zero Pencil from the palette on my waterline.
The colour on my browbone is Vanilla by Smashbox.
On my lashes I used the Falsies Mascara. I love the brush and the fact that it’s spoon shaped. This means less chance in touching your lid with the mascara. This mascara is meant to make your lashes give a statement, I find that it does have a tendency to clump, but I don’t mind going through my lashes with a lashcomb with this mascara, thanks to the wand.
The thing that did annoy me though was that it did leave a mark on my top lid. Ever looked up to early with still wet mascara? Well it looked like that, but it happened after two hours in the sun. Also when I went to bed I was sooo tired that for once I was too tired to take off my makeup and I woke up the next morning looking like a panda bear. I’ll do a picture of the smudging after a night’s sleep later on in the testing month.
I know many non-waterproof mascara’s that are able to handle a shower, a good cry, warm weather, going to the gym and/or sleeping in it. So this is for me somewhat of a letdown, but I also know that it’s not waterproof and it’s a “cheap” mascara so I shouldn’t expect it to perform miracles. We’ll see what the rest of the month brings me.

I love this look! I can see why everyone wants the Naked Palette!
