Remember, trends are set up to sell makeup, so don’t go with a trend simply because you feel like you need to, or think you need to buy all new makeup to create these looks. The bright lips I’ll talk about later can be done with the Make Up For Ever Flash Palette and those colours can also be used as a base for eyeshadow and as a cream blush. If you want a pale pink eye, you can use a blush that you never used because it was too bright. You can use many products for different things, that’s the difference between applying makeup and being a makeup artist. Just be sure to be sanitary with your products and tools.

This year has the makeup look for every woman out there. You can wear neutral makeup or go full out bold and bright depending on your personal style, outfit, location, occasion and situation.

Pastel eye makeup remain a huge trend this spring/summer. It started last year and will remain this year. Try the more shimmery pastels (no glitter), instead of the mattes that made it huge last year. Colours for this year are: blue, green, pink, orange, gold and red. Use the colours that suit your skintone. A thin line of eyeliner and coats of black mascara will add definition. Try a light purple catshaped smokey eye this spring with possibly a gold eyeliner on the waterline.

Bright eyemakeup is very popular at Dior. Derek Lam and Jason Wu made the trend wearable by pairing technicolor eyeshadow hues with bare skin and a glossy pink-nude lip. To get the colour on your eyelid as bright as you wish, use a basecolour, like a MAC paintpot, or a Make Up For Ever cream shadow (from the Flash palette).

Just as a bright is the almost neon pink, raspberry, orange/red or fire engine red lip (preferably matte). Don’t forget a lipliner under your lipcolour to keep it bright longer. Think bright luscious kissable lips that shouldn’t be touched Yes this year you can wear the bright eyes with the “bright” lips.

A neutral face with a red lip always will remain a spring favourite. Like YSL did this year.

Matte lips with a bronzed smokey eye works amazing for blue eyes.

Natural makeup. This means foundation for a flawless looking skin, concealer to hide blemishes, curl lashes and use BLACK mascara, apply a small amount of blush on your cheekbones to emphasize them and use a lipbalm with SPF for soft lips.
A neutral face with very bronzed cheeks is favoured by NARS.

Many runways showed bleached brows, I personally don’t like that look at all, I do know that Kevyn Aucoin loved to lighten the brows on his models a couple of shades lighter then their hair.

On the other end of the scale were full brows, also very pretty, but can overwhelm a face. So be smart and just wear a browshape and colour that fits YOUR face, a brow is there to frame the eyes and too thin a brow can make you look sickly and too thick a brow can make you look manly.
